Catherine Cockcroft, Head of Microbiological Services for Exova, has been appointed to the BSI Standards Committee for Water Quality, Microbiological Methods.

Catherine was invited to the committee based on her expertise and over 20 years’ experience in the field of microbiology. Her new position will enable her, on behalf of Exova, to help develop new national and international Standards in water testing.

The committee’s mandate is to draft national standards of good practice for the UK, as well as provide input into European and international Standards and ensure that what is adopted in the UK is suitable for BSI needs.

Catherine commented: “It’s a great privilege to be invited to join the BSI and to play a part in its work to improve quality standards and public safety. With Exova, I have continued to build on my knowledge of food and water safety systems as well as microbiology test method development and validation. I am looking forward to working with the committee and sharing this knowledge to benefit the wider industry.”
