Exova, the leading global testing, calibration and advisory services provider, has expanded both capacity and technical capabilities at its aerospace laboratory in Monterrey, Mexico.
Capacity expansion includes high temperature metals stress testing machinery for round and flat specimens at up to 980°C; and an upgrade of state of the art stress grinding equipment and skills through investment, training and development.
Supporting leading organisations in the global aerospace supply chain, the growth further establishes the laboratory as one of the region’s most advanced providers of aerospace testing services.
The laboratory’s capability has also been extended with the appointment of Julian Martinez, a highly qualified Materials Engineer. With a Masters in Metallurgy, experience working at CERREY and time teaching at Monterrey Tech (ITESM), and work on his PhD in Materials, Julian brings considerable expertise and skills to the Exova business and will be overseeing the implementation of the new equipment and practices.
Rocco Moro, Executive VP for Aerospace Americas, comments: “Throughout Nuevo Leon and Mexico as a whole, the aerospace industry is expanding and as a result we have witnessed an increase in customer need for metal technology services to support this growth. The Exova business in Monterrey is going from strength to strength and this investment in people, training and technology is representative of the recognition by our clients that Exova is a leader in its field.”
