Exova, the global testing, calibration and advisory services provider, has appointed Rona Lorimer as general manager of its materials and mechanical testing laboratory in Salford, UK.
With a career spanning more than 20 years in manufacturing and laboratory testing, Rona joins Exova from Burtons Foods where she was manufacturing improvement manager. Prior to that she held a number of key operational management roles during a 10-year tenure with testing group LGC. Rona began her career in a series of manufacturing roles with Hewlett Packard.
With Exova, Rona will be responsible for the day-to-day operational and commercial management of the Salford laboratory, which supports customers in the oil & gas, industrials and utilities sectors across the UK and Europe.
Robin McGill, director of European oil & gas at Exova, said: “Rona brings a proven track record within a fast moving commercial testing environment. With a strong commitment to quality and service she will ensure our Salford laboratory continues to meet the mission-critical needs of our customers.”
A graduate of the University of Paisley with a BSc in Biology, Rona is a chartered member of the Institute of Biology.
