Catherine is a microbiology and food safety expert, with extensive experience in microbiology test method development and validation, food safety management systems, technical project management, and quality systems.
Catherine has established new Exova microbiology laboratories, and coordinates knowledge sharing in food and water microbiology across the Group. She provides technical support to clients to strengthen their own product safety management systems
Catherine has delivered a number of presentations at national forums on various aspects of microbiology and food safety.
Due to her expertise in the field, Catherine was invited onto the BSI Standing Committee of Analysts for Water Quality, Microbiological Methods, in 2015.
The committee is charged with drafting national standards of good practice for the UK as well as the provision of input into European and International Standards and to ensure that what is adopted in the UK is suitable for BSI needs.
