Melbourne to be home of fire safety centre of excellence

A new investment of $1.600,000 dollars by Australian fire safety company, Exova Warringtonfire will help create a centre of excellence for fire safety and prevention.

Exova Warringtonfire, which has a NATA accredited fire resistance laboratory in Melbourne, as well as fire safety consultancy offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, has invested in a new state-of-the-art fire resistance furnace which is the first of its kind in Australia at its Dandenong facility.

Leaders at Exova Warringtonfire believe the new investment will help contribute greatly to fire prevention.

Peter Downer, director of Exova Warringtonfire for Asia Pacific commented on the investment. He said: “It’s no secret that we want to be at the forefront of the fire safety industry in Australia and with this new piece of equipment we can help our customers and the profession bring about significant advances in fire safety”. “This state-of-the-art full scale, high capacity fire resistance test furnace will be capable of testing horizontal and vertical constructions and will be housed at our existing NATA accredited laboratories in Dandenong, Victoria.” Peter and his team will be officially unveiling the furnace and the enhanced fire safety service at the company’s Melbourne lab on February 20th.
