Exova appoints new European Managing Director

Exova, the leading testing and advisory group has appointed Mike Pooley as its new European managing director to lead its continued market growth.

He joins Exova from CHEP, the world’s leading provider of pallet and container pooling services, where he was senior vice president for sales and customer operations and responsible for managing $1.2 billion of annual revenue. Prior to this, he was managing director of CHEP’s business in the UK and Ireland where, with responsibility for all commercial and operational activity, he delivered both increased revenue and operating profit during his tenure.

Prior to joining CHEP in 2002, he spent 12 years with BOC where he held senior commercial roles and also established his engineering credentials on projects including the development of new cryogenic freezing and chilling technology.

At Exova, Mike will have responsibility for 36 testing facilities and over 1000 experts across Europe supporting customers in the aerospace, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, food and industrials sectors.

Exova’s CEO, Ian El-Mokadem, commented on Mike’s appointment. He said: “Mike brings a strong customer focus combined with excellent operational management experience gained in international markets. Exova’s European operations support leading customers including Airbus, United Utilities, Subsea7 and Saipem.

Mike is an engineering graduate of the University of Bath and achieved a MBA in 2002 with Henley Management College.
