The Industrials division of Exova, the world’s largest independent testing group, has announced two key appointments.
Tim Platt has joined the business as technical manager with responsibility for its Hillington lab near Glasgow and for Runcorn in Cheshire. Meanwhile, Philip Norville joins as sales director for Industrials in Europe.
Tim, of Uddingston near Glasgow, will be a key part of Exova’s Environmental leadership team, working to strengthen the technical services delivered to clients, and to further develop capability.
He joins from Glasgow Scientific Services where he was quality and instrumentation group manager, and holds various industry qualifications including a degree in chemistry, membership of the Royal Society of Chemistry and is a Chartered Chemist.
With more than 35 years’ industry experience, Tim has acted as scientific advisor to Strathclyde Fire and Rescue’s emergency response technical support team.
Philip, who holds a degree in civil engineering and a diploma in land surveying, will be responsible for managing the division’s sales and marketing activities across Europe.
He joins from the international DEME Group where he was UK business development manager for both DEME Environmental Contractors (DEC) and DEME Blue Energy. Philip lives in West Sussex.
