Exova’s newly opened oil and gas laboratory in Aberdeen has recently secured its UKAS accreditation, following the first surveillance of a four year assessment cycle under UKAS.

The last assessment was made in November 2009, shortly after Exova acquired the laboratory from Applus RTD and considerable improvements have been made since then in particular with regard to the laboratory accommodation and housekeeping.

UKAS also commented on the focus that laboratory staff has on delivering a quality service to customers.

Exova Aberdeen has expanded the company’s network of laboratories serving the oil and gas sector and will work in tandem with Exova’s existing facility in Edinburgh to provide a range of corrosion, mechanical and metallurgical tests for metals and metal products particularly for locally based offshore clients. Exova Aberdeen is also home to a Weld School, which offers an expansive range of services including weld engineering, support on welding processes, materials and mechanical testing; NDT, welder testing and third party certification.
