Bend testing is another test designed to evaluate the materials ductility or ability to be formed at room temperature.  Typical bend tests are performed on metal samples bent around a hardened steel mandrel to a specific degree of bend (typically 90 or 180 degrees).  The bent sample is inspected for cracks and defects.  Bend testing is used on raw material and often for welding qualifications.
