SHORT BIO OF THE LAB / LOCATION
Located in the Piacenza's industrial zone, Exova Piacenza has years of industry experience performing materials and fracture testing.
We offer specimen preparation in an incorporated workshop with CNC controlled equipment. Testing is performed in accordance with international standards, trade and/or customer specifications. The services we offer include:
- Mechanical and specialized testing: tensile testing, impact strength testing, hardness testing, hydrogen disbondment, creep, and stress rupture testing. We also perform specialized tests at low temperatures using liquid helium cooling.
- Fracture mechanics: S.E.N.B., S.E.N.T., and C.T., also performed in low temperature conditions and after contamination in a corrosive environment. Results can include the following: C.T.O.D.-R curve, J-R curve, C.T.O.D., J1c, K1c. We also perform E.C.A. e L.B.B. Evaluations.
- Metallography: grain size, ferrite content, inclusion analysis, determination of depth corrosion and/or overs surface, analysis of materials structure, etc. Macro and micro analysis are performed by Optical stereoscopic microscopes, optical metallographic microscopes and electron microscope (SEM) on each type of material.
