Exova’s food lab in Portland, formerly Food Products Laboratory, was established in 1984, and our current 6,500 sq. foot laboratory facility was built in 1992. We are amongst the largest food labs in the Northwest, professionally staffed with 20 scientists and support personnel. We provide food chemistry and microbiological testing using validated methods as per AOAC, AACC, FDA BAM, EPA and USDA guidelines. At Exova, we offer nutritional analysis to meet FDA NLEA guidelines with a range of vitamins and minerals, and other voluntary nutrients. Our lab performs most mineral and metals analyses by GFAA, FAA and/or ICP. Vitamins and other food chemistry analysis are conducted by GC and HPLC. The majority of our microbiological testing follows the standards of the FDA Bacteriological Analytical Manual (FDA BAM) and the Compendium of Microbiological Methods for the Examination of Foods (CMMEF). In all, Exova’s food lab in Portland has over 300 tests to meet your testing needs, and participates in numerous accreditation and proficiency programs. |
