Exova’s Ottawa laboratory is a full-service facility specializing in environmental organic and inorganic chemistry, agricultural, and microbiological testing. Its technical staff offers expertise to the agricultural community, government, industry, environmental consultants, and the homeowner. It offers a broad range of analytical services in support of landfill monitoring, environmental site assessments, remediation, drinking water quality, regulatory compliance, and more. Results are provided in a timely fashion in a clear and concise report format.  Expertise in the areas of: Microbiology Analysis: The Ottawa laboratory provides analysis of bacteriological parameters in a variety of matrices including drinking water, effluent, sewage, soil, and sludge samples. Drinking Water: Maintains CALA accreditation and an Ontario MOE drinking water testing licence for a specific list of parameters from the disciplines of general inorganic and organic chemistry, including pesticides and herbicides, and microbiology. Chemical Analysis: The Ottawa laboratory is a full-service facility utilizing state-of-the-art instrumentation such as ICP/AES, ICP/MS, Flame AA, spectroscopic, ion chromatography, NIR, and more. For organic chemistry, the lab maintains numerous direct injection GC/MS, purge & trap GC/MS, GC/FID/MS, GC/FID, GC/ECD, HPLC with PDA and Fluorescence Detection. Environmental: Specializing in the analysis of soil, water, wastewater, and other materials for a broad range of parameters including petroleum hydrocarbons, PAHs, PCBs, pesticides and herbicides, VOCs, Semi-VOCs, metals and inorganics. The Ottawa laboratory supports clientele from all levels of government and the consultant industry for landfill and effluent monitoring, site decommissioning and clean-up, drinking water and sewage treatment plant monitoring, disposal of material in landfill (TCLP), sewer discharge, sludge spreading, and more. Agricultural: Provide service to the agricultural community through the analysis of farm soils, lime, manure, home and garden soils, compost, livestock feeds, plant tissue, and water quality. We offer a complete range of analyses from soil and feed quality (wet chemistry and NIR) to herbicides/pesticide characterization. The Ottawa laboratory is accredited by OMAFRA for farm soils and provides crop-specific lime, nutrient requirement, and fertilizer recommendations for farm, home, and garden soils.  |
