Chemical Fogging on Insulating Glass (IG)

Chemical fogging, occurs when materials in the insulating glass (IG) unit’s air space degrade under high temperature or ultraviolet light, volatize and then condense, depositing a film on the glass surfaces in the IG unit’s air space. Often, this film does not dissipate and it can potentially cause chemical fogging. Fogging becomes more obvious when glass has a low-emissivity coating.
