Exova’s expert staff can support your mechanical testing and structural analysis needs from vibration to durability simulation. |
Exova has been providing mechanical testing and structural analysis for over 20 years. Our mechanical testing and structural analysis facilities support the automotive, commercial truck & bus, off-highway and military industries. Structural Analysis - Mechanical and Structural Testing Facilities: Exova’s mechanical testing and structural analysis provides the facilities and equipment to test individual components, sub-systems and fully operational systems. Our operational service environments subject components and systems to complex structural loading conditions in a controlled laboratory environment. Mechanical Testing and Structural Analysis Clients: Our typical mechanical testing and structural analysis clients include OEM’s, Tier Suppliers and companies developing new technologies. Please request a quote or contact us to find out how Exova's Mechanical Testing and Structural Analysis services can assist you. Structural Analysis and Mechanical Testing Services: Exova can provide support for any step of your mechanical analysis and structural analysis development programs, services offered include:
Benefits of Mechanical Testing and Structural Analysis: Mechanical tests and structural analysis allows for multiple components or sub-systems to be evaluated at compressed time to meet the development schedule. Load and displacement parameters from Road Load Data Acquisition (RLDA) or computer model predictions (Engineering Services) can be used to develop single or multi-axial inputs block cycle or constant amplitude structural durability tests. We can also integrate environmental conditioning and other auxiliary thermal, pressure and electrical inputs if required during the structural analysis durability testing. Our mechanical testing and structural testing facilities utilise hydraulic, pneumatic, robotics and electrical equipment to support these structural analysis test activities. Challenge within Mechanical Testing and Structural Analysis: Over the last few years suppliers have been asked consistently to shorten part design and launch times but increase quality. In order to meet this challenge, there has been a growing interest in ‘continuous conformance’ or ‘start of production & lot testing’. We support the process in ‘continuous conformance’ or ‘start of production testing’ by taking a specific percentage of parts from a production batch and test them for design and mechanical performance. Typical examples of this mechanical testing include safety systems, engines and drive train components. Providing Mechanical Testing and Structural Analysis Solutions: In today’s automotive economy, it is often found that manufacturing facilities do not have either the capital, manpower or support structure to accommodate short term testing programs. Exova has been working with a number of OEMs and Tier one suppliers to design flexible test systems for mechanical testing and structural analysis. These test systems allow us to identify our client’s mechanical testing and structural analysis needs and design test cells that meet the necessary quality, reporting, administration and testing functions of a specific program. Once the parameters have been identified, we will assemble and install the test cell either in, or near your production facility. Exova employees staff the cells and will typically service clients for the initial three to twelve months of production or until the lot testing requirements are met.
