| Biological Analysis - Pharmaceutical Biological analysis is a key function within Exova Health Sciences at our Exova Prova facilities in Camberley, Surrey. This mirrors the growth in the biotech sector in general as more companies focus on biological materials as development candidates for tomorrow’s medicines.
Exova Health Sciences can offer a ‘one-off’ service for analysis or method development; or a longer term, ongoing service for routine batch analysis and assessment of material for batch to batch consistency throughout a manufacturing campaign. Client methods can be transferred into Exova for routine testing and/or validation, or alternatively, methods can be developed in-house to the clients requirements. We can also perform short-term accelerated stability studies or long-term stability studies to ICH guidelines under stability protocols tailored for the active material or product.
The range of biochemical, physiochemical and biological/immunological characterisation activities offered for the biological or biotech product includes: - Immunoassay development and validation
- a range of electrophoretic techniques e.g. SDS-PAGE, IEF and immunoblotting
- chromatographic methods
- compatibility and pre-formulation support
- long-term storage and stability testing facilities.
The range of biological entities Exova currently handles encompasses products from the ‘virtual’ biotech company to the large multi-national and has included: - whole antibody preparations
- antibody fragments (native and modified)
- native peptide hormones
- membrane receptor proteins
- whole cell vaccines.
