The key to any job is the removal of samples from the correct location. Along with a selection of horizontal band-saws, Plzen is equipped with two Danobat vertical band-saws capable of removing samples from all shapes and sizes.
When working with aerospace materials, and aerospace tolerances, the quality and accuracy of the machining of the samples is very important. Exova Plzen is capable of machining up to 120 aerospace standard round samples per day.
Exova Plzen is capable of conducting a wide range of mechanical testing including:-
In order to meet stringent requirements, most rotating gas turbine parts require testing at elevated temperatures. Exova Plzen has over 60 Stress Rupture and Creep testing points capable of reaching up to 900°C. Each test point has the latest up-to-date temperature monitoring technology to ensure stable temperature control throughout the test.
A wide range of metallurgical facilities and expertise means Exova Plzen is conversant with a wide range of alloy and material types from Aluminium to high temperature resistant Nickel based alloys. Automatic sample preparation enables us to prepare 100 samples per day to the high standards required.
Exova Plzen has the capability of analysing steels and stainless steels using the OES method. The Plzen laboratory also possesses the capability of analysing titanium for Hydrogen.
Exova Plzen is able to offer high and low cycle fatigue tests as well as fracture mechanics tests for metallic and in certain extend also on composite materials.
