Dr Christophe Mattei, Exova’s Technical Expert in Non Destructive Testing has a wealth of industrial experience and has published many papers.

His work means that he is involved with advising companies on the best ways to implement quality control processes that rely on the use of Non-destructive Testing. In some cases, this means being involved in the development of tailored inspection solutions that are delivered at the client's site.

Christophe works with a very wide range of applications: from on-line thickness mapping of industrial diamond layers to the inspection of rotor blades for wind turbines. The techniques that he works with include Ultrasonics, Thermography, Electro-magnetic testing, Shearography and X-rays. These projects always require a good level of knowledge of the physical principles lying under the Non-destructive testing technique, measurement technology and signal processing, automation and of course, a lot of project management.
