Our safety performance

2013

Our objective is to operate our business without injury, damage to the environment or damage to other assets. We therefore consider any injury or damage as unacceptable and make every effort to prevent their occurrence. We utilise our HSE incident reporting system to ensure that facilities are available for sites to record and report incidents, and the action taken to prevent their re-occurrence.

Our performance in the last year:

Note: Medical aid incidents show a significant increase due to more minor first aids being sent for precautionary and diagnostic attention at medcial centres.

Incident reporting in 2013 continued to show improvement and this is reflected in the encouraging increase in near miss reporting.  Exova encourages near miss reporting as a way of addressing hazards before they realise their potential to cause injury and, on that basis, the performance in 2013 shows a significant change in reporting culture.
