As part of its drive for excellence, Exova's Bridgwater facility achieved Nadcap approval for both metallic and non metallic testing in 2008 and has recently also received Nadcap approval for the assessment of aerospace welds and heat treatments. Nadcap is the leading worldwide co-operative of major companies supplying the aerospace industry and was designed to ensure a cost-effective consensus approach to special processes and products. All major aerospace OEMs now stipulate that companies which provide a service in “special processes” obtain Nadcap approval.
“Our focus on quality has certainly paid off with one of the Nadcap auditors commenting that we have set a bench mark for future testing laboratories seeking Nadcap approval. The approval was a fantastic result and will support our continued development into the aerospace materials market.
“The commitment to quality has been embraced by everyone, which also resulted in Bridgwater being awarded Exova’s own Quality Award for the way in which we have focussed on quality despite the changes we have been making to the business,” Peter Allen explains.
