Offer a complete service to aeropace business
Greener. Hotter. Lighter. These are just some of the challenges facing today’s aviation industry. Engines are required to run at higher temperatures, utilizing alloys and coatings to enable this. Exova experienced engineers have assisted the aerospace industry by predicting the product life of alloys and coatings.
The cost of fuel and the need for efficiencies results in lighter airframes using the latest composite technologies. The reduction in carbon emissions and the need to reduce operating costs forces the development of more fuel efficient engines.
For the aerospace industry, stringent safety requirements, increasing complexity and challenging environments mean that effective testing programs are critical to project success.
Exova’s accredited and OEM approved laboratories offer the complete service from checking fuels and lubricants, calibrating instruments, predicting fatigue life, checking for defects in components or helping you understand the properties of the latest composite materials. We have the right engineers and services across the global manufacturing chain to support your requirements.

Expertise in composite manufacture and repair
As part of an overhaul of its Space Bus, Ruag Space (formerly Saab Space) wanted to redesign the central tube, but when it became clear that this would be very costly, the composites team at Exova’s ETC was called in to come up with a solution.
Exova developed a method to repair the exiting central tube by manufacturing a patch which could be bonded to the tube. The main benefit was that a costly redesign of the central tube could be avoided by using a bonded repair patch.
